Country of Origin: E. Himalaya to Japan and Philippines

Description: [A. g. var. pusillus (Siebold) Engl.] To 18 inches, not aromatic, rhizome slender; leaves rarely more than 1/4 inch wide, without a distinct midrib; spadix slender, to 3 inches long. Cultivar 'Pusillus' is a dwarf form from Japan.
The genus Acorus is considered to be the most primitive extant monocot.
