Description: Dwarf, dioeceious shrub of summer rainfall areas to 4 ft (1.2 m) tall by 30 in (75 cm) wide. The aromatic foliage is 3/4 in (18 mm) long and glossy dark green, and the berries are 1/4 in (6 mm) across and pale blue in color. The plants are poikilohydric: they can become completely dessicated, then resume growth when rehydrated by rain.
Culture: Sun to semi-shade; acid to alkaline soils although they perform poorly in shallow, dry soils. Propagate from seed or cuttings.
