  • Description: Very similar to S. grandiflora but differing from it in the calyx being only half as long as the corolla. Following text is for S. grandiflora

    Coarse, glabrous, woody vine, to 30 feet or more; leaves elliptic to ovate), and broadly tapering to each end; wider than oblanceolate.">obovate, to 7 inches long, acute, petioles less than one inch long; calyx tubular, to 3 inches long, 2-lobed, as long as the narrow portion of the corolla tube, corolla white, turning yellow to brownish-yellow on the second day, 4-6 inches long, expanded above the calyx and slightly contracted at the mouth.

    S. grandiflora is found in Jamaica, Puerto Rico and the lesser Antilles. S. longiflora is found in Cuba and Hispaniola.
